In her debut EP „Nadias’s Escape“ Hamburg based Rosaceae uses sound as a set of sensual experience which makes her able to express what ordinary language cannot convey, and even further, which enables her to transgress into other versions of identity.
A personal relief for the merciless world in which we live when the cause is too heavy to simply use words or descriptions. Using her own voice as well as the voices of other yazidi women who have been suffering under an ongoing genocide attack by the so called Islamic State, Rosaceae finds a way to create a narrative of overcoming trauma by unsettling normative rules of listening.
